After a delicious breakfast at your hotel, you start the tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a place full of history, stunning views and traditional markets.

In Chinchero, just 45 minutes from Cusco, you meet a local family and their ancient weaving techniques, and interact with alpacas and guinea pigs. Next are the circular terraces of Moray, an ancient Inca agricultural laboratory that created unique microclimates, and the thousands of salt pools of Maras, intact since Inca times.

You enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at a local restaurant in Maras with traditional Peruvian dishes, including vegetarian options.

Explore the terraces and ruins of Ollantaytambo, the strategic site that protected the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, and board the train to Aguas Calientes enjoying the mountain views. On arrival we take you to your hotel; in the afternoon you have free time to explore or rest.

After breakfast at the hotel, early in the morning you board the bus to Machu Picchu, the "Lost City of the Incas", one of the most impressive archaeological sites in the world, located at more than 2,400 m.a.s.l.

Built in the 15th century during the peak of the Inca Empire and revealed to the world in 1911 by Hiram Bingham, its original purpose remains a mystery. As you walk through the ruins with your local guide, you can imagine what life was like in this majestic citadel.

In the afternoon, you return by train to the city of Cusco. On arrival, reception and transfer to your hotel.

Before your tour to Machu Picchu

Tour cancellations due to bad weather are not refundable, as they are factors beyond our control.

According to the latest policies of the Dirección Desconcentrada de Cultura de Cusco (DDC), all Machu Picchu entrance tickets are personal. Therefore, they cannot be rescheduled, transferred or refunded.

The train company that takes you to Machu Picchu does not allow luggage heavier than 5 kg. Most travelers carry only a small backpack for Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu. The rest of your luggage can be left in your hotel storage in Cusco at no extra cost.

Peru Rail and Inca Rail do not allow seat selection. Seats are assigned automatically in the system.

We recommend taking the Expedition or Voyager train on the way there and the Vistadome or 360° panoramic train on the return, to enjoy better views without missing the visit to Ollantaytambo.

It is not mandatory for those visiting the cultural region (Cusco and Machu Picchu). However, it is recommended for those traveling to the Peruvian Amazon jungle.

The standard voltage in Peru is 230V. Some hotels offer 110V outlets with transformers upon request.

US dollars and soles are accepted in Peru. The ideal is to carry US dollars and exchange them at safe exchange offices inside the country, preferably those recommended by your travel agency.

There are two main seasons: the rainy season (November to March) and the dry season (April to October). In Cusco and Machu Picchu, temperatures range between 0°C and 24°C. In Lima, temperatures range between 12°C and 35°C.
