Before booking your Inca Trail
Everything you need to know to experience the 2-day Inca Trail with total confidence.
A good level of physical fitness will make you enjoy the route more. We recommend prior walks and endurance exercises in the weeks before your trip.
The trek reaches 2,700 m.a.s.l. on average. Our guides recommend acclimatizing in Cusco at least one day before starting the trek.
Bring rain gear, a waterproof jacket and warm layers for the cold mountain mornings and nights.
There are public restrooms along the trail. A change of 1 sol or 1 US dollar is required to use them.
You can buy water at some points along the trail, but we recommend carrying at least 2 liters from the start.
Our kitchen team offers an onboard menu with Peruvian food: breakfast, lunch and dinner. For vegetarian or vegan options, please let us know at the time of booking.
The Inca Trail has no official age restriction, but it is a demanding route. Keep this in mind when choosing your itinerary.
The passport is mandatory to enter the Machu Picchu Citadel and no changes can be made after issuance.
Because there is high demand, train tickets and Machu Picchu entry tickets are non-refundable. See our terms and conditions for more details.
Your tickets will be secured once you pay the 50% deposit. The balance must be paid no later than 15 days before the tour.
