Arrival in Lima: upon arrival, a member of our team will be waiting at the airport to take you in private transportation to your hotel in the city center. You'll have the rest of the day to relax and get ready for your vacation package in Peru.

Lima city tour: you'll enjoy a guided visit appreciating the capital across its three historical periods: pre-Hispanic, colonial and modern.
Huaca Pucllana: panoramic view of this ceremonial center built in the 4th century AD, considered a "sacred town" by the Incas. Historic Center: more than fifty colonial buildings and monuments, including Plaza San Martín, Plaza Mayor, Government Palace, the Cathedral Basilica and the City Hall. San Francisco Complex: entry to appreciate colonial religious art and the famous underground crypts, the "Catacombs". Modern Lima: the tour ends through El Olivar Park in San Isidro, Miraflores and Larcomar.

Ballestas Islands: early in the morning we'll depart in private transportation to Paracas. After a 4-hour journey we'll reach the port to board a speedboat to the islands, home to dolphins, sea lions, penguins and more than 200 species of birds. On the way we'll pass by the enigmatic Candelabra.
Ica and Huacachina: we'll continue to Ica (approx. 1 h 30 min) to visit the Plaza de Armas and explore the city. Then we'll visit the artisanal winery "Tres Generaciones", where we'll learn about the wine-making process and pisco distillation, with tasting included. Our next stop will be the Huacachina Oasis, surrounded by stunning dunes, where you'll enjoy an exciting buggy ride. In the afternoon, return to Lima (approx. 5 h 30 min) and transfer to your hotel.

Flight to Cusco: one of our representatives will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the airport for your flight to Cusco (flight not included). Upon arrival, our team will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel and give you a brief orientation of the city. The rest of the day is free to acclimatize to the altitude of the Imperial City.

City Tour (approx. 09:00 – 14:00): the guided visit begins with the Cathedral and the Koricancha (Temple of the Sun). Then we'll head to the outskirts of the city to explore the impressive Inca archaeological sites: Sacsayhuamán, the monumental fortress with megalithic stone that represents the head of a puma; Q'enqo, a sanctuary for ceremonies and offerings to Pachamama; Puca Pucara, a reddish fortress that was a military control post and resting area for the elites; and Tambomachay, the Temple of Water. At the end, return to your hotel.

Sacred Valley: around 8:00 a.m. we'll pick you up for a full-day tour. Pisac: explore its famous craft market and the archaeological site with ancient agricultural terraces, an astronomical observatory and the Intiwatana. Buffet lunch at a local restaurant in the valley. Ollantaytambo: visit one of the most important Inca military, religious and residential complexes.
After the guided visit, you'll board the train to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu, where you'll spend the night getting ready for tomorrow's visit.

Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas: early in the morning you'll take the bus to the archaeological site, perched above the Urubamba river and built in the 15th century, during the height of the Inca Empire. Explore it with our expert local guide and imagine what life would have been like in this sacred city built at 2,400 meters above sea level.
In the afternoon, return by train to Cusco. On arrival, transfer to your hotel and rest.

Rainbow Mountain: at 5:00 a.m. we'll pick you up from your hotel to start the journey southeast, heading to Cusipata (3,339 m) and the town of Llactoc. Along the way you'll enjoy herds of alpacas and llamas and the unique Andean flora of the area.
The hike (approx. 2 h 30 min) crosses stunning landscapes and snow-capped peaks until the spectacular Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca), at 5,200 m. You'll spend about an hour at the summit admiring the colorful landscape before descending 1 h 30 min back to Llactoc. Then, local lunch in Cusipata and return to Cusco around 5:00 p.m.

Before your great journey
Tour cancellations due to bad weather are not refundable, as they are factors beyond our control.
According to the policies of the Dirección Desconcentrada de Cultura de Cusco (DDC), all Machu Picchu entry tickets are personal: they cannot be rescheduled, transferred or refunded.
The train company does not allow luggage over 5 kg. Ideally, take only a small backpack for Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu; you can leave the rest of your luggage at your hotel's storage in Cusco at no extra cost.
Peru Rail and Inca Rail do not allow seat selection: seats are assigned automatically by the system.
We recommend taking the Expedition or Voyager train on the way there and the Vistadome or 360° panoramic train on the way back, to enjoy better views without missing the visit.
It is not mandatory for those visiting the cultural region (Cusco and Machu Picchu). However, it is recommended for those traveling to the Amazon rainforest of Peru.
