Before your tour to Machu Picchu
Tour cancellations due to bad weather are not refundable, as they are factors beyond our control.
According to the latest policies of the Dirección Desconcentrada de Cultura de Cusco (DDC), all Machu Picchu entrance tickets are personal. Therefore, they cannot be rescheduled, transferred or refunded.
The train company that takes you to Machu Picchu does not allow luggage heavier than 5 kg. Most travelers carry only a small backpack for Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu. The rest of your luggage can be left in your hotel storage in Cusco at no extra cost.
The hike to Vinicunca lasts around 2 and a half hours uphill and 1 and a half hours downhill from Llactoc, with up to 5,200 m.a.s.l. at the summit. It is considered moderate and is done at a slow pace to ease acclimatization.
We recommend taking the Expedition or Voyager train on the way there and the Vistadome or 360° panoramic train on the return, to enjoy better views.
