Arrival at Lima airport, Peru

Arrival in Lima: From the moment you arrive, a member of our team will be waiting at the airport to take you in our private transportation to your hotel in the city center.

Lima, City of Kings tour

Lima city tour: You'll see Lima across its three historical periods: pre-Hispanic, colonial and modern. We start with the Huaca Pucllana, a panoramic view of this magnificent ceremonial center built in the 4th century AD, considered a "sacred town" by the Incas.

In the Historic Center we'll visit more than fifty colonial monuments and buildings: the Paseo de la República, Plaza San Martín, Plaza Mayor, Government Palace, Archbishop's Palace, the Cathedral Basilica and the City Hall.

We'll enter the San Francisco Monumental Complex, the greatest example of colonial religious art in the Americas, famous for its underground crypts: the "Catacombs".

Contemporary Lima: a drive through El Olivar de San Isidro, Miraflores and the Larcomar shopping center, with views of the Pacific Ocean.

Cusco city tour: Cathedral, Koricancha and the 4 ruins

Cusco city tour: one of our representatives will take you to the airport to board your (not included) flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, a vehicle will be waiting to take you to your hotel.

PM (approx. 1:00–6:00 p.m.): In the afternoon the city tour begins, which includes the Cathedral and the Koricancha (Temple of the Sun), now the Santo Domingo Convent.

The tour continues to the outskirts to visit Sacsayhuamán (puma's head), Q'enqo (religious site dedicated to Mother Earth), Puca Pucara (Red Fortress, military and administrative control) and Tambomachay (Temple of Water, a place of worship and water rituals). Then, transfer back to the hotel.

Sacred Valley excursion: Pisac, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero

Sacred Valley tour: around 8:00 a.m. passengers will be picked up to start a full-day excursion. We'll visit Pisac, known for its craft market and its Inca archaeological site with irrigation system, astronomical observatory, sundial or Intiwatana and agricultural terraces.

After the buffet lunch, we'll visit Ollantaytambo, a fortified area with a temple, terraces and an urban sector, an important administrative and military center. Finally, Chinchero, known for its colonial church with Cusco School paintings, where a traditional barter market is held on Sundays. In the afternoon, return to Cusco.

Machu Picchu excursion, the Lost City of the Incas

Machu Picchu tour: in the morning, travel by train to Machu Picchu Pueblo and enjoy a guided visit to Machu Picchu, the "Lost City of the Incas", built in the 15th century during the height of the Inca Empire.

Although this citadel was revealed to the world by Hiram Bingham in 1911, locals had known of its location for a long time; its original purpose remains a mystery. Explore the ruins with your expert local guide and imagine what life would have been like in this majestic citadel, set at around 2,400 meters above sea level.

In the afternoon, return by train to Cusco, where you'll be transferred to your hotel.

Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) excursion

Rainbow Mountain excursion: we'll pick you up at 5:00 a.m. to start the journey southeast, passing through Cusipata (3,339 m) until the Llactoc community, with herds of alpacas, llamas and the unique flora of the region.

The hike starts in Llactoc and lasts approximately 2.5 hours, with views of snow-capped mountains until the Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca). After spending about an hour at the summit, you'll begin the descent (1.5 hours).

From there, our transportation will take you to Cusipata for a traditional lunch and the return to Cusco, arriving around 5:00 p.m.

Before your Classic Peru tour

Tour cancellations due to bad weather are not refundable, as they are factors beyond our control.

According to the latest policies of the Dirección Desconcentrada de Cultura de Cusco (DDC), all Machu Picchu entry tickets are personal. Therefore, they cannot be rescheduled, transferred or refunded.

The train company that takes you to Machu Picchu does not allow luggage over 5 kg. Most travelers only take a small backpack for Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu. You can leave the rest of your luggage at your hotel's storage in Cusco at no extra cost.

Peru Rail and Inca Rail do not allow seat selection. Seats are assigned automatically by the system.

The Expedition train is the standard category with comfortable seats and panoramic windows. The Vistadome train adds a glass roof and sides to appreciate the Sacred Valley landscape in full, plus panoramic windows in the aisles.

The hike has a moderate difficulty level. It starts from the Llactoc community and takes about 2.5 hours up and 1.5 hours down, between 3,000 and 5,200 m. High season runs from April to November.

It is not mandatory for those visiting the cultural region (Cusco, Machu Picchu and Lima). However, it is recommended for those traveling to the Amazon rainforest of Peru.

In Peru, US dollars and soles are accepted. Ideally, bring dollars and exchange them at safe exchange offices within the country, preferably those recommended by your travel agency.

There are two main seasons: the rainy season (November to March) and the dry season (April to October). In Cusco and Machu Picchu, temperatures range between 0°C and 24°C. In Lima, temperatures range between 12°C and 35°C.
